Riverboat Gambling (week 6)

Saturday October 4th, 2008

All Times Central

#12 Florida (-27) at Arkansas- 11:30 AM on Raycom Sports
Porch picks: Gators 34-10

Why? Tebow is pretty hacked about last week's loss, but he may try too hard this week, and the spread is just a little large for a bounce-back loss. Gators roll, just not covering the spread.

South Carolina and Ole Miss (-2)- 1:00 PM
Porch picks: Gamecocks 24-17

Why? Houston Nutt is Mr. Letdown and the Rebs don't realize how fortunate they were a week ago to get the Gators on a bad week. Hotty Toddy returns the favor this Saturday with lackluster offense.

Kentucky at #2 Alabama (-15.5)- 2:30 PM on CBS
Porch picks: Crimson Tide 20-7

Why? The Wildcats are pretty well un-tested in their first 4 games. This will be a good game to see if Bama is "for real" if they can avoid the let-down after handling Goergia in Athens last weekend.

#13 Auburn (-4) at #19 Vanderbilt- 5:00 PM on ESPN
Porch picks: Commodores 21-13

Why? The Commodores have done well flying under the radar, but winning in the spotlight is something the Commodores have yet to prove they can do....ever. With College Gameday in Nashville to hype the game, don't be surprised if 'Dores stumble early but get it done before the end with Auburn's pathetically inept offense.

Northern Illinois at Tennessee (17)- 6:00 PM
Porch picks: Volunteers 23-20

Why? Northern Illinois has been giving people all they want, while Rocky Top is engulfed in turmoil, especially after declaring an "open quarterback battle" earlier this week. Vols squeak it out late.....LATE.
