Riverboat Gambling (week 5)

Saturday September 27, 2008

Mississippi at #4 Florida (-23) - 11:30 AM on Raycom Sports
Bunkhouse picks: Gators 35-14

Why? Ole Miss usually gives Florida all it wants, but the Rebs just don't have the speed or depth to play all 4 quarters toe to toe with Urban Meyer's group.

Arkansas at #7 Texas (-27.5) - 2:30 PM
Bunkhouse picks: Longhorns 55-17

Why? Arkansas is easily the worst team in the SEC in the last half decade. They have no chance on the road against the Longhorns who will expose even more weaknesses than Bama did a week ago.

Tennessee at #15 Auburn (-6.5) - 2:30 PM on CBS
Bunkhouse picks: Tigers 28-17

Why? On The Plains against a team with some real character and coaching issues. Some Auburn fans are already calling for an end to the Spread Offense era on The Plains. It comes through this week.

Western Kentucky at Kentucky (-20.5) - 6:00 PM
Bunkhouse picks: Wildcats 40-14

Why? Kentucky has been efficient on offense and solid on defense. Just too much for the Hilltoppers.

UAB at South Carolina (-25) - 6:00 PM
Bunkhouse picks: Gamecocks 27-20

Why? UAB has some skills of they don't turn the ball over. They can keep this one close, and no one should bet on Carolina covering large spreads in 2008.

Mississippi State at #5 LSU (-24) - 6:30 PM
Bunkhouse picks: Tigers 48-7

Why? The Wooldawg offense is just pathetic. LSU has no mercy in Death Valley and helps Sly Croom and company fall to 1-4 on the season which formerly had high hopes.

#8 Alabama at #3 Georgia (-7) - 6:45 PM on ESPN
Bunkhouse picks: Crimson Tide 24-22

Why? Georgia is turnover and penalty prone, while "Saban Ball" grinds it out in the trenches will with mostly turnover and penalty-free offense. The Bulldogs have also bought a little too much of their own hype. While Knoshown Moreno is the real deal, it won't be enough....even with the "Black Out" between the hedges.

Have a great Thursday!

Alabama-Georgia: Good call.

Mississippi-UF: Never have I been so happy to see you mistaken.
