The Man

By Taft Ayers

I think Steve Harvey is funny. You may not.

Either way you look at him, I found this admirable. At his comedy shows he concludes with a final "bit." Keep in mind, this was done in front of a secular audience. At the end, he hit them with this. Touching.

I might try to replicate it this Sunday in our pulpit here at Woodland Hills. I might need help with my letter of recommendation after they fire me though.

I think you should do it, but I can't imagine this would be received as well at Woodland Hills as it would with The First Baptist Church in downtown Memphis.

Send a video if you do.

Now THAT'S testifying!

(I'm just curious which part would get you fired -- the mention of wine, or the music in the background?)

In jest, the part that would get me canned would be the rediculously racially separated mentality that is in Memphis, TN.

Sad, Sad I know.

That is so depressing. For my countless vists there while in college, I guess I never realized that it really was as badly divided as everyone says. (Then again, as students, I guess we didn't really hang out in places where that would be evident.)

The only reason we haven't moved to another mission field...

...is because we hope that we can (through His influence) change a handful of hearts to see folks the way He does...as souls.
